Homegrown in the Pacific Northwest, New Northerners FC ply their trade in the RATS (Recreational Adult Team Soccer) league of Seattle. We reached out for more information and they were happy to reply.

Tell us the origin story of your club - when was the club founded? By whom and what was its mission?
New Northerners FC was founded in 2025 in Tukwila, Washington, with a mission to give local players a real pathway to grow, compete, and prepare for the next level. We wanted to create a club focused on development, opportunity, and a strong community culture.

Tell us about your badge and colors – how does it connect to the community?
Our colors are light blue and orange. Light blue represents ambition and a fresh start, while orange brings the energy and determination that defines our club. Together, the colors reflect our identity as a young, hungry, and confident team.

What league or leagues does your club participate in and why did you choose those to join?
We played our first season in the Seattle Rats League, which provided the perfect competitive environment for a new team. It helped us learn quickly, build chemistry, and establish our style of play.

Tell us how you cover the costs and how anybody interested can support you.
We don’t charge player fees. We operate through community support, merchandise sales, and partnerships. Every contribution goes toward fields, equipment, and league costs. Fans can support us by attending matches, purchasing merch, or spreading the word about the club.

How has your first season gone? What were your goals and has anything changed?
Our first season went well for a brand-new team. Our goals were to build a foundation and focus on player development, and we achieved that. Next season, we aim to improve our consistency and strengthen the squad even more.

How do you participate in, or give back to your community?
Our club exists to help players become the best they can be and prepare them for higher levels of soccer. As we grow, we plan to expand into more community-based programs, clinics, and opportunities for youth in our area.

If there were one or two teams, within a 100 miles of you, to play a friendly against – who would you play and why?
We’d love to play friendlies against Seattle Sounders Bellevue 2 or Holac Academy — two competitive sides that would push us and create exciting matchups for our fans.
