Dropping Points in DC: DC United 0, NE Revs 3

WASHINGTON, DC - United were unable to add to their six-match unbeaten streak, which stretched back to May 16th - the last time they lost a game, the World Cup hadn’t even kicked off. New England Revs are sat 4th in the Eastern Conference and are looking up the table at Chicago with an eye for 3rd. DC United are desperate to hold onto the last spot in the playoff race.

Alhassan Yusuf got the scoring started in the 23rd, added another before the end of the half, and completed his hatty in the 66th minute. The visitors bossed possession and put more shots on target that the hosts.

The Revs are set to host NYCFC this Sunday then go on the road for four straight matches - picking up all three points at home will be important for coach Marko Mitrovic and company, if they want to overtake Chicago and perhaps, if things go their way, Inter Miami, who are only 6 points away in 2nd.

Meanwhile, things have not reached the point of desperation for DC United yet, as they have a 3 point lead over Orlando City for the 9th and final playoff spot. Plus, there are 14 games left to get back on an unbeaten run and add points to the aggregate. This Saturday, DC United are away to 6th place Charlotte and if they can secure a win, they could even overtake NYRB and NYIFC - but other results will have to go their way.
