Your UPDATED Playoff Viewing Guide

Soccer football playoffs are never boring. It was a week. So, where are we now? Here’s a quick look at some of the leagues as the current season winds down.

WPSL

Pensacola FC are the 2019 WPSL champions

On Friday, they beat Seattle Sounders Women 3-2 in the semifinals. Pensacola defeated Utah Royals FC Reserves 4-3 in the Jerry Zanelli Cup final yesterday with Hoover, Alabama’s Briana Morris scoring the game winner in the 118th minute.


UWS

LA Galaxy OC are the 2019 UWS champions

They easily handled Indiana Union 5-1 in the national semifinal on Saturday and then yesterday ground out a 1-0 win against Calgary Foothills WFC in the national final. Stanford University forward and Hermann Trophy winner, Catarina Macario, scored in the 72nd minute and was named Tournament MVP.


UPSL Pro Premier Spring Season

What: National semifinal #1

When: Saturday, July 27

Who: Tropics SC vs. Bavarian SC

Where: Kangaroo Stadium in Weatherford, Texas

How they got here:

Tropics SC (11-0-0) won the Florida Central West Division of the Southeast Conference. In the first round of the Florida State Division playoffs Tropics SC defeated GOSA 3-0 and they beat Sporting Orlando 3-0 in the second round. Tropics SC won the divisional semifinal 3-1 against Macca Ballers FC and then defeated Boca Raton FC 3-1 in the divisional final. Finally, Tropics SC defeated World Class Premier Elite 2-1 in the national quarterfinals.

Bavarian SC (6-1-1) won the Central Division of the Midwest Conference regular season. The Bavarians crushed Vlora City FC 10-1 in the conference semifinals and beat Joliet United SC 3-1 in the conference final. Yesterday, Bavarian SC handled Mass United FC in the national quarterfinals, 5-1.

When: Saturday, July 27

Who: Southwest FC vs. Murciélagos SLC

Where: Kangaroo Stadium in Weatherford, Texas

How they got here:

Southwest FC finished second in the Southwest Conference regular season. They defeated FC Grande 2-1 in the conference semifinals and Drifters FC 3-2 in the conference final. On Saturday, Southwest FC beat Oklahoma City 1889 FC 4-0 in the national quarterfinals.

Utah Murciélagos (12-2-2) finished second in the Mountain Conference regular season. Murciélagos defeated Gordis FC 5-0 in the conference semifinals and Boise Cutthroats FC 2-0 in the conference final. On Saturday, the club easily handled Pajaro Valley United in the national quarterfinals, 5-0.

What: National semifinal #1

When: Saturday, July 27

Who: New York Cosmos (#1) vs. ASC San Diego (#4)

Where: Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale

How they got here:

New York (13-0-1) won the North Atlantic Conference regular season. The Cosmos defeated Brooklyn Italians 1-0 in the conference final. On Sunday, in the Northeast Region Final, New York beat FC Baltimore Christos 3-1.

ASC San Diego (12-5-1) finished third in the Southwest Conference. In the regional quarterfinals, San Diego defeated FC Golden State in a shootout and beat Crossfire Redmond in another shootout in the regional semifinals. On Saturday, San Diego edged out FC Arizona 2-1 in the West Region final.

What: National semifinal #2

When: Saturday, July 27

Who: Miami FC (#2) vs. Cleveland SC (#3)

Where: FIU Soccer Stadium in University Park

How they got here:

Miami (9-1-0) won the Sunshine Conference regular season. In the conference semifinals, Miami defeated Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 4-0 and beat Miami United FC 2-1 in the conference final. Last week, Miami blanked Chattanooga FC in the South Region semifinals and, on Saturday, beat Tulsa Athletic 4-1 in the regional finals.

Cleveland (8-2-0) won the East Conference. Last week, in the Midwest Region semifinals, they beat Rochester Lancers 6-4 in a thrilling match after tying the game by scoring two goals in the final five minutes then scoring two more in extra time. Yesterday, Cleveland won the regional final by defeating Detroit City FC in a shootout.

USL League Two

National Semifinals & Final

What: National semifinal #1

When: Saturday, July 27

Who: Fint City Bucks vs. FC Golden State Force

Where: Atwood Stadium in Flint

How they got here:

Flint (6-3-3) finished second in the Great Lakes Division regular season and was the Great Lakes wild card. In the Central Conference semifinals, the Bucks beat Des Moines Menace in a shootout and, yesterday, defeated Kaw Valley FC 4-2 in the conference final.

Golden State (11-2-1) won the Southwest Division regular season. The Force handled Colorado Pride Switchbacks U23 4-0 in the Western Conference semifinals and, in the conference final, edged out Ventura County Fusion 2-1 yesterday.

What: National semifinal #2

When: Sunday, July 28

Who: South Georgia Tormenta FC 2 vs. Reading United AC

Where: Erk Russell Athletic Park in Statesboro

How they got here:

Tormenta (10-2-2) won the Deep South Division regular season. They defeated The Villages SC 3-1 in the Southern Conference semifinals and, yesterday, easily managed Brazos Valley Cavalry FC 5-1 in the conference final.

Reading (10-1-3) won the Mid Atlantic Division regular season. The club beat GPS Portland Phoenix 2-1 in the Eastern Conference semifinals and edged out Western Mass Pioneers 1-0 yesterday in the conference final.

Gulf Coast Premier League

What: Semifinal #1

When: Wednesday, July 24

Who: Northshore United vs. Louisiana Krewe FC

Where: Northlake Christian School in Covington

How they got here:

Northshore (7-2-1) won the Central Conference and, as regular season champions, were the #1 seed.

The Krewe (6-2-2) finished second in the West Conference. They beat Tallahassee Soccer Club 4-3 in the quarterfinals.

What: Semifinal #2

When: Wednesday, July 24

Who: FC New Orleans vs. BOCA FC Knights

Where: Pan American Stadium in New Orleans

How they got here:

New Orleans (6-1-3) finished second in the Central Conference and second in the regular season.

The Knights (6-1-3) won the West Conference. The club defeated AFC Mobile in extra time, 2-0, in the quarterfinals.
