Who Are Ya!: El Pueblo FC (Multiple Local Competitions)

February 17, 2026 by Joshua Duder

We were first introduced to El Pueblo FC by Lexa Athletic Wear while we were preparing for our Top 25 Tops of 2025 article - when we asked which cool projects they were working on, they said we had to check this club out. When we sent our questions to the team, Ricardo Mendez happily answered, but he also wanted to share, “I want to thank everyone involved in our current project from past to current players, all of this couldn't be possible without every single one of you guys. The growth we've has been so good, we are blessed to have such a good soccer community around us.”

Tell us the origin story of your club - when was the club founded? By whom and what was its mission?
Club was founded September 7th, 2023 by a small group of friends who met playing pick up soccer at The Village Apartments in Dallas, Texas. The name El Pueblo FC was voted on in a chat, the name basically translates to the Village in English. Can’t say that was the intention but the name was thrown in there in a poll along with two others. The vote was between Ricardo Mendez, Isaac Jasso, Alek Martinez, Blake Knight, Alex Correa, Ryan Jeans, Beto Aguilar & Alex Saenz. The mission was to play for fun and build our way up to compete in some of the best local leagues.

Tell us about your badge and colors – how does it connect to the community?
Blue is our main color, El Pueblo blue as some might say. Stays true to our location Dallas, red for the reunion Pegasus that stands out on the blue of our badge. It’s a very simple logo, speaks for itself and is very recognizable. It connects with the community very in the sense that everyone who sees it knows it's the team that streams our games on YouTube and produces some of the top content locally and it attracts some of the top talent around.

What league or leagues does your club participate in and why did you choose those to join?
We play at Soccer Spectrum in Richardson, TX in their 7v7 format on their outdoor fields, we decided to join it because to us it was the best one around and central to everyone who plays on our team and other teams. We recently joined Ultimate Indoor Soccer in Mesquite Texas, there we play their 6v6 indoor format and joined it because we wanted to expand where we play and reach in different competion. We also play Crossbars weekend competitive tournaments when hosted, the competition there is very high and it makes it fun when the whole community comes together to play the beautfiul sport and it attracts players from all over. We've also played Dallas Soccer Alliance's 11v11 for the first time in 2025 and won it on our first year, the experience was so fun. We choose to play these leagues because we want to challenge ourselves and love creating the content people know us for.

Tell us how you cover the costs and how anybody interested can support you.
We keep our lights on by reaching out to our sponsors when it comes time for new kits, alot of it is self funded by the players. We do have an official team store through Lexa Sport I will attach the link. We don't make money off of that just yet to cover our costs but have been pushing a lot lately for some of our top gear our friends, fans and family love. https://lexasport.com/pages/teams/el-pueblo-fc

How has your first season gone? What were your goals and has anything changed?
We finished with our very first 11v11 championship at Dallas Soccer Alliance for our first time. Several 7v7 d1 championships at Soccer Spectrum on both Monday & Wednesday league. Second place in our first indoor league at Ultimate Indoor Soccer. The womens side one their first money tournament at Crossbar in Denton. Our goals continue to be the brand growth, now expanding to the youth side and working on that project. Winning more tournaments, continue to bring some of the best players around and compete anywhere we can and gain recognition.

How do you participate in, or give back to your community?
We've done a couple community events for the City of Dallas in participating as volunteers as our way to give back. We hope to do more as 2026 kicks off and try to give back as much as we can.

If there were one or two teams, within a 100 miles of you, to play a friendly against – who would you play and why?
That's a very tough question, because there is so many good teams around us in Texas. I'd like to say the top team around us whoever it is just because we love a challenge we haven't attempted yet and it's always fun challenging ourselves and whatever the result might be we learn from it. We love going back and watching film and learning from our own mistakes so we can come up with strategies to better the team. Sorry I couldn't name someone specific but there is so many good ones around us.
