Who Are Ya!: Texas Lonestar (MASL W)
Who Are Ya! kicks off 2026 by introducing you to Texas Lonestar SC out of the MASL W - since having replied, they’ve played a few games, but at the time of answering, they had only just won their first scrimmage on Nov. 22 vs. TULSA FC, and won their home opener on Dec. 13, vs. H.I.C. (Houston Indoor Club) - a veteran club in the league 4-2, in front of over 380 fans. Not a bad start for a brand new team kicking a ball off the wall.
Tell us the origin story of your club - when was the club founded? By whom and what was its mission?
The club was founded in 2025 as a brand-new franchise in the Major Arena Soccer League (Women’s). Its creation was driven by a clear opportunity in the Dallas market to make a meaningful impact on the women’s game. The principal owner, Pia Namdar recognized both the strong soccer culture in Texas and the lack of professional platforms specifically dedicated to women, to reach higher levels in soccer, and then set out to help close that gap.
The club’s mission is to provide opportunities for women to pursue their passion for soccer at the highest level while offering a professional environment that supports both athletic and career ambitions. Beyond competition, the organization is committed to advocating for women in sport, creating pathways for player development, and serving as a platform that empowers athletes on and off the field.
At its core, the club aims to foster and expand a culture of excellence in women’s soccer in Texas—contributing to the growth of the game, elevating standards, and inspiring the next generation of female players to dream bigger and achieve more.
Tell us about your badge and colors – how does it connect to the community?
Our badge and colors were intentionally designed to reflect both our identity as a club and our connection to not only the Dallas community, but the State of Texas as a whole. As a new franchise founded in 2025, this is our inaugural badge, created to establish a strong and lasting visual foundation from the start.
The design draws inspiration from the strength, resilience, and ambition of the athletes who represent our club, as well as the pride and passion of the local soccer community. Our colors were carefully selected to symbolize energy, excellence, and unity, the values that define our mission on and off the field and resonate deeply within the vibrant sports culture of Texas.
What league or leagues does your club participate in and why did you choose those to join?
We compete in the MASLW (Major Arena Soccer League Women's). We chose this league due to it being an international league for women's soccer with teams from Canada, USA, Mexico, as well as, is the highest and most recognized indoor soccer league in the world.
Many clubs choose to sell hats, scarves or replica kits - how does your club keep the lights on and cover its league costs? How can interested people support you?
Absolutely! We have merchandise for sale, visit our website www.TXLONESTARSC.COM and please purchase merchandise!
How do you participate in, or give back to your community?
We do various community service projects, visit youth girls clubs, and participate in free coaching sessions/clinics to get our girls out there in the community as positive role models.
If there were one or two teams, within a 100 miles of you, to play a friendly against – who would you play and why?
We would love to play a friendly against any/all of the women soccer programs in the Dallas Fort-Worth area. We have so many teams here it would be unfair to pick only one!
