“We evaluated the women’s pre-pro leagues already playing as well as the (at the time) yet-to-be-announced USL W League, and we felt like the W League had a good chance to be the best and most competitive league. Combine that with the efficiencies it would create with the men’s team being in USL1, we wanted to go that route. COVID pushed back the W League’s (and thus our) announcement of the team, but we were excited to be a charter member of the league when it launched in 2022.”

“South San Francisco AC began play in 1954 under the direction of its founder and original Coach, Alvaro Bettucchi. Bettucchi wanted to grow the game of soccer on the San Francisco Peninsula and the obvious place to begin that process was in his home town of South San Francisco.”

“The club was founded by Germans working on shipping lines in Hoboken, NJ. Hoboken was a big port city through the 1950s and many of the shipping lines to NYC would actually dock in Hoboken as it is directly across the Hudson River… The club is now fully multinational with American players of different backgrounds as well as foreign born players who live in the Hoboken area.”

“Since we wish to enhance and not compete against our fellow clubs and Leagues, we are non-League. We chose this to appeal to all players, as well as set our own schedule determined by what level the players want, and how often they want to play. We do not "own" any "player rights".”

“Some lesser known teams we want to challenge would be Ristozi FC in Towson (another team with an impressive ground-up rise), Baltimore United (a local DRC-diaspora amateur team which has been super supportive of us), and also Annapolis Blues who have been cheering us on from afar. It goes without saying that it is in Maryland Soccer's interest to have a Charm City Derby, and a regular matchup versus Christos FC (a team that paved the way for so much good for soccer in the area) is a must that we hope to see in the future.”

“Tim Woodcock is the founder of SoCal Reds the WPSL team was built by myself this year with the mission of providing elite female soccer players with high-level training and a competitive game circuit, in doing so we aim to inspire young female athletes and grow the game in our Southern California.”

We looked to pull cooler colors from the landscape within the mountains since it’s a main symbol within our Colorado community. The trees/mountains along with the sun and the stars are some aspects of the Colorado landscape that we enjoy most!”

“The great thing about the mountain division in USL2 is that every team is talented and competitive. There is no easy match. Because of this high level of competition, it makes our division great. We look forward to playing Salt City SC the most as they are a local rival.”
