This summer, Matt Laczko got out to shoot some soccer and when he came across our website, he reached out to share some of his work. We were intrigued, so we asked him a little more about himself and how he got into shooting soccer games.

Matt, thanks for reaching out! Can you tell us how you got started shooting soccer games?
I got started photographing soccer while working for the Georgia Revolution FC during their time in the NPSL and then expanded into more photography while marketing the Atlanta District Amateur Soccer League in 2018-19. I decided that when COVID-19 shut down the job I was working, I would take the full-time dip into photography and have been fortunate to have photographed so many more soccer games since, including Charlotte FC, the 2026 MLS All-Star Game, and the Charlotte Independence SC in the last year.
What has been the most interesting or exciting match you've been able to shoot?
The most interesting match I've ever photographed was an NPSL match between the Georgia Revolution FC and the now-defunct adult-side Georgia Storm where the field included former Atlanta United players Andrew Carleton and Kevin Barajas and future USL Championship midfielders Ousman Jabang, Mason Tunbridge, and Ryan Carmichael. The match included a dust-up between Carleton and Tunbridge, a back-and-forth game that ended 1-1, and was the 2nd of 3 matchups, with the two teams meeting again in the Conference Finals, with the Revolution winning the title 2-1 in McDonough, Georgia.
