The action may have slowed during the summer but it never stops in the Southwest Premier League (SWPL), which will culminate its 2025-'26 calendar later this month with the SWPL Championship before picking up quickly with the upcoming Fall Season.
Down to four clubs for the 25/26 crown:

•Chula Vista FC vs Montclair Academy FC

•Legends SC vs Sin City FC

There's now an automatic qualification spot for the USASA Region IV tournament on the line for the winner.

Chula Vista FC takes on Montclair Academy FC at Hoover High in San Diego this Saturday night. The winner travels to play the Legends SC / Sin City FC winner on Saturday, Aug. 29.
It's the third official year of the SWPL Championship. Chula Vista FC claimed the first title in 2024, while Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC II from the Mountain Premier League claimed the title in 2025.

CENTRAL VALLEY EXPANSION

The Central Valley Super Liga becomes an official member of the SWPL this fall.
Compiling teams and clubs from up and down the Interstate 5/Highway 99 corridor, the Central Valley Super Liga is growing quickly with entries from Sacramento to Fresno.

The league intends to be the year-round home for USASA-affiliated elite amateur soccer in the fleshy middle of the state, with its champion competing in next year's SWPL Championship tournament.
Central Valley Super Liga members also are eligible to compete in the Umberto Abronzino Cup, Northern California's USASA-sanctioned qualification competition for the USASA Region IV tournament.

OPEN CUP ENTRIES

Each of the SWPL's league affiliates will have representatives participating in the qualifying round for the 2027 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Fifth among all amateur leagues with seven entries - just behind The League for Clubs (11) and USL League Two (9) - the SWPL's USOC proclivity proves its largesse on the West Coast.

Sacramento, Calif.-based Legends SC, the Pacific Premier League's spring season champion, will make its first appearance in the tournament, with Redwood City's JSC JASA back attempting to qualify.
Out of the SoCal Premier League, Redondo Beach's Monsters return to take on SoCal's crowded field of clubs, while recent San Diego Super Liga champion Chula Vista FC makes its umpteenth appearance.

From the Nevada Premier League, Las Vegas-based clubs Be Pro FC and Las Vegas United FC will give it another try, but St. George, Utah's STG Premier FC is making its debut.

NEW TEAMS ABOUND

The SoCal Premier League has seen an influx of new team entries for this 2026 Fall Season.

Los Angeles-based Athan Fynixs IX and Racing L.A. DFC, the SoCal Premier League men's Under-23 summer season champion, join as full members this fall while in Orange County, Garden Grove's Lobos F&P Pilcaya and Santa Ana Municipal FC will begin their journeys.

In the Pacific Premier League, Club Deportivo Oakland and CalBlue FC are set for their first campaigns, and in the Nevada Premier League, Cedar City, Utah-based IFC Cedar, formerly Southern Utah FC, will re-launch right after Labor Day.
