The Protagonist Soccer Zine is an homage to the Zines of the 1980s and 90s - when soccer updates were printed on old Xerox machines and disseminated on the streets. While our Zine will be approximately the same size (5.5”x8.8”) it is of a much nicer quality and packed with full color illustrations, photos, and original written pieces.
The third issue is dedicated to soccer in St Louis, Missouri, “The Gateway to the West.” From the story of a legendary player in the early 20th Century who brought US Open Cup success to St Louis to an interview with a USMNT legend who is the son of a USMNT legend; from an era of NCAA dominance to the dominating efforts of a local amateur side to win their regional league.
Issue Four of The Protagonist Soccer Zine is already being organized and will celebrate the soccer heritage and history of San Francisco. Who knows where this goes, but help us get it started with Pre-Order of The Protagonist Soccer Zine Issue Three!
